Peter Ioannou is an immigrant from Cyprus. He moved to Brooklyn when he was 10 years old. Once he began searching for homes laterin life, he settled in Coney Island in 1987. He recounts how at the time he was barely able to afford his current home that he has lived in for twenty-eight years. Peter is 59 years old, works for the MTA and spends much of his time maintaining his garden. He is interviewed by his son Daniel Ioannou, who first interviewed him as a Junior Historian for the Coney Island History Project as a high school student in 2008.
